NOTE: After registration, the candidate must send an anonymous email with his nickname to the following address: email@example.com, for the simple verification of the receipt of the registration. Each candidate will be answered simply with “Iscrizione Registrata Correttamente”. If do not receive this answer, it is good to contact the artistic director. This e-mail will be displayed only and exclusively by the artistic director and not by the jury or the secretariat.
Art. 9 – The subscription fee is € 30,00 for the first composition, and € 20,00 for any other piece sent by the same contestant. The fee has to be paid by bank transfer, addressed to “Comune di Albenga”. Unicredit Bank, IBAN: IT76B0200849252000105262632, BIC: UNICRITM1185.
Description of payment: Name, Surname of the competitor, 5° Concorso di Composizione “Città di Albenga”.
Art. 10 – The jury will be composed of Roberto Tagliamacco (President), Giovanni Scapecchi and Marco Reghezza. The verdict of the jury is unappealable and unquestionable. The judges can decide not to assign the prizes if they think that the music is undeserving. They can also assign “ex-aequo” prizes.
Art. 11 – Prizes
The composer whose composition will get the best score, and in any case not less than 98/100, will win the following prizes:
– The diploma and the Absolute First Prize cup
– A scholarship of € 500
– His work will be inserted as a compulsory piece for the special category of the Special Prize of the Piano Competition 2019.
– His work will also be sold on the new e-commerce page of the “Città di Albenga” Piano Competition (which will be specially created) where it can be freely purchased by interested users and especially by those who will participate in the Special Prize category of the Piano Competition ” City of Albenga “2019.
– The piece will be performed in a piano recital, in agreement with the composer and the performer, in one of the concerts that will be organized by the artistic direction in collaboration with the Municipality of Albenga.
The participants who will score no less than 95/100 will be awarded the First Prize Diploma.
The participants who will score no less than 90/100 will be awarded the Second Prize Diploma.
The participants who will score no less than 85/100 will be awarded the Third Prize Diploma.
The participants who will score no less than 80/100 will be awarded an Artistic Mention.
Art. 12 – Board and lodging, and travel expenses are at the participants’ expense. There will be the possibility to take advantage of some local establishments that are in agreement with the competition’s organization.
Art. 13 – According to art. 10 of law n° 675/96 on privacy, the personal data given at the subscription will be kept and used exclusively for communications regarding the competition itself; moreover, according to art. 13 of the same law, the owner of the data has the right to know, modify or delete them, or not to allow their use.

Art. 15 – The subscription to the competition involves the general acceptance of these regulations. The organizers can cancel the Competition due to circumstances beyond their control: in that case, all subscriptions fees will be refunded. The Law Court of Savona (Italy) will be competent for every dispute.
YOUNG COMPOSERS SECTION
Art. 16 – The youth section of this competition is reserved for composers enrolled in a musical high school.
Art. 17 – Each composer may submit more than one piece. The compositions submitted must be unpublished and not tied in any way to any publisher, otherwise the prize will be forfeit.
Art. 18 – The prize giving ceremony will take place at the Auditorium San Carlo in Palazzo Oddo in Albenga (SV) on 29th December 2018, at the same time as the performance of the prize-winning pianists from the XXVII edition of the Piano Competition “Città di Albenga” – “Memorial Maria Silvia Folco”. The winning composers’ participation is not compulsory, although preferable. If the winner is unable to attend the ceremony, the secretariat will send them the diplomas, as well as the any prizes. It’s appreciated (although not obligatory) the performance of the winning iece on the occasion of the concert.
Art. 19 – The online registration must be done by 10 December 2018. The results of the competition will be published by 20.00 on 21th December 2018 21/12/2018 on the website www.concorsopianisticoalbenga.it in the News section.
Art. 20 – The contestant is required one composition of a piano work of medium difficulty, which does not exceed approximately 3 minutes. Every style is allowed.
Art. 21 – The parcel containing the documents mentioned in art. 22 of this regulation has to be received within 12th December 2018 by registered letter to the following address: Segreteria Concorso di Composizione “Città di Albenga”, Comune di Albenga – Ufficio Turismo, Viale Martiri della Libertà 1, 17031, Albenga (SV), Italy.
Art. 22 – In order to enrol, the contestant must send a parcel containing 2 copie of the score (these will not be sent back) which must be perfectly legible (possibly written using either “Finale” or “Sibelius” notation software, otherwise hand-written clearly and later turned into digital form if selected by the jury), and marked with a nickname or a numerical code. Both on the envelope and on the compositions must be written, in addition to the nickname “YOUTH SECTION”. The same parcel, besides the copies of the score, must also contain a closed envelope, marked on the outside with the same nickname or numerical code as the copies of the score. The envelope must enclose:
– 1 copy of the candidate’s identity card or passport;
– 1 copy of competitor’s CV (including the following contacts: e-mail address, telephone number and postal address), in one of the following language: Italian, English, French or German;
– Receipt of payment of the subscription fee.
– One copy of the composition’s text is to send to de mail dress: email@example.com .
NOTE. The compositions must NOT contain the name of the composer, but only the nickname or sequence of numbers, penalty the expulsion from the competition.
